Missing Teen’s Mom Suspects 3 Men Held | ajc.com

Is it me or or people who are seemingly going through tragedies lately are awfully quick to soak in the limelight? I mean, if my child was missing, the last thing I would be doing is interview’s for some morning show. Not only the Alabama teen’s case, but even in the case of the runaway bride, the ‘distraught’ family and friends seemed pretty damn willing to get on the tube. It’s just hard for me to understand how someone who is so devastated could so easily pop up on Tv everyday, or with a quote everyday, or granting interviews as if they have done something heroic instead of been victim to a tragedy.

Different mindsets I guess…..

  1. I’m with you on this one. I can’t imagine having enough composure to be able to stand in front of a camera if my child were missing.
The media is, and has been, creating a reason for people to do stupid things or commit crimes just to get their 15 minutes. I was speaking with a friend last night and we were talking about the ‘runaway bride’ case. If I were to be abducted or some other serious crime was committed on me, would the police wait to find me or would they jump right on it like the case of the runaway bride? I think this case has done harm to people in the future because one will now question whether or not it was a ‘runaway event’ rather than a serious crime. You think anyone would come to look for me if I went missing or would they just think that motherhood got the best from me? hmmmm…..
