Immigration Monday
Odd thing this morning was. Last night, the news kept telling of us impending traffic doom due to construction and speed limit reduction. Didn’t happen. In fact, traffic was absolutely beautiful this morning. Mrs Xpinionated and I couldn’t figure out just what was going on…then it hit. Hispanics were playing hookie today to protest and boycott. So now we have figured out that Atlanta’s horrible traffic is caused by teachers, parents, and Hispanics. Because if you take just one of those out…the commute drastically reduces!!
Something else odd I thought of today. Instead of so much protesting in this country to make your lawbreaking legal, why not take that energy and effort back to your home country and protest for better living conditions so you don’t have to come to this country illegally?
Lastly, why do Americans celebrate Cinco de Mayo? Do we think Mexico is celebrating July 4th?

I didn’t notice any change in traffic yesterday so I am assuming you have a much greater Hispanic population up your way, or the Hispanics in my area decided not to protest?!?!?!?
Very good question posed X. Unfortunately I don’t believe people have as much motivation in their home country as they do ours because our country is hyped much more, “come live the American Dream and your world will be wonderful”, when was the last time you heard “Mexico, the land of the free” (healthcare, food stamps, housing;)?
I am not celebrating Cinco de Mayo, never have. I have, however, used it as an excuse to drink (heavily at times), but never to celebrate.
If I sound racist too bad, I know I am not and those around me know the same. I don’t want Americans getting a free ride as much as I don’t want anyone legal or illegal coming into my country getting a free ride…..and I still don’t want my anthem sung in Spanish!
